Prayer Changes Lives

“For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” – Matthew 18:20

I am thrilled to share this month’s Mission Moment with you, centered on the incredible power of prayer.  Our theme verse for this month is Matthew 18:20: “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.”

Prayer has always been the cornerstone of River of Life Mission.  From the very beginning, we have been intentional about incorporating prayer into every aspect of our work.  One of the ways we do this is through our Mid-week prayer meeting every Wednesday.  These gatherings are not just routine; they are lifelines for our employees and volunteers, rejuvenating us spiritually and uniting us in purpose.

Our Mid-week prayer meetings have been a source of immense joy and spiritual nourishment for everyone involved.  Employees and volunteers alike have shared how these meetings have positively impacted their lives and helping provide a sense of community and deepening their faith.

As our mission has expanded, so too has our prayer network.  We now have Hub Spots operating all over the island, with many of them holding their own weekly prayer meetings.  As I write this, I think about the fact that on any given week, there are almost 80 prayer meetings happening, in every community around Oahu – on behalf of the homeless.  The impact of these meetings has been profound, fostering a sense of community and spiritual growth among churches, communities, families, and our friends on the streets.

One Hub Spot leader shared, “Our weekly prayer meetings have become a cornerstone for our ministry.  It’s so encouraging to hear directly from our guests how the Lord is working in their lives and to be able to pray alongside them as they cast their burdens to the Lord.”

We are continuously amazed and grateful for how the Lord is moving through our prayer initiatives.  It truly feels like the mission has extended ministry directly into the community through our friends and partners hosting HUBs.  This movement of the Lord is evident in the countless stories of transformation and hope we hear every day.

As we reflect on Matthew 18:20, we are reminded of the power of gathering in prayer and the presence of the Lord among us.  We encourage you to join us in prayer, whether through our Mid-week meetings, at a Hub Spot, or in your own time. Your prayers and support are vital to our mission.

Thank you for being an integral part of River of Life Mission and for your continued support. Together, we are making a difference through the power of prayer.

We invite you to share your own prayer requests or testimonies of how prayer has impacted your life. Please feel free to reach out to us at [email protected] with your stories and requests.

With Jesus,
